Tazra – Depth, rhythm and Berber magic

Tazra is a vintage Boucherouite rug measuring 148 x 246 cm – a powerful yet poetic piece of textile art, handwoven by Berber women in Morocco. The rug exudes calm and mystery with its graphic V-shaped pattern and a color palette that balances the cool and the sensual.

In shades of navy, lavender, mint, black, ice blue, violet and sporadic pink details, Tazra creates a hypnotic rhythm that leads the eye towards the center. It is a rug that can both bring calm to a room and at the same time be a strong visual statement – like a work of art on the floor.

🏡 Tazra fits perfectly in:

  • A living room with light walls and wooden details, where the carpet creates contrast

  • A bedroomwhere it adds depth and texture

  • A creative space or studio where colors inspire

  • Or as a wall hanging – for maximum artistic effect

🌟 That's why Tazra is special:

  • One unique and handmade rug – no copies

  • Made from recycled textiles – sustainable and historic

  • Harmonious, but full of contrast and depth

  • The name “Tazra” means “to weave” in Berber – a tribute to the craftsmanship and stories in each thread

Tazra is more than a carpet – it is an atmosphere. A story in colors, shaped by hands and traditions.

Maintenance

Vacuum the carpet regularly and take it outside and shake it once in a while. Stains are removed by soaking up the stain as quickly as possible with a cloth and then dabbing the stain with a damp cloth. The rug is made from scraps of different materials.

The story behind

Carpets decorate, provide coziness and warmth and are also noise absorbent.

Boucherouite rugs are woven from fabric scraps from clothes and textiles and the Berber women give them a new life in an artistic rug. All carpets are unique and small works of art in themselves. The name Boucherouite comes from Bouts de chiffons, which means remnants of fabric. Many types of materials are used in a Boucherouite rug: cotton, nylon, wool, lace, tulle, etc.  Each piece of fabric is fixed piece by piece with a special technique. This technique is passed down from mother to daughter through generations. The hallmark of Boucherouite rugs is that they are colorful and thought provoking. They give a warm and colorful touch to the interior and have become very popular among interior design enthusiasts worldwide. The most common size is approx. 100×170 cm. The smaller rugs are also used as wall decorations with/or without a frame.
