Although Boujaad rugs are robust, their vibrant colors and fine weaving are best preserved with a little extra care:<\/p>\n

              The story behind Boujaad carpets<\/h4>\n

              Boujaad carpets originate from Haouz Region<\/strong> in central Morocco, near the town of Boujaad, and is known for some of the most colorful and artistic Berber carpets.<\/p>\n

              They were traditionally woven by Berber women as part of their dowry<\/strong> \u2013 a kind of visual diary, in which the weaver incorporated symbols of love, fertility, protection and the cycle of life. This makes each Boujaad rug unique and full of personal history.<\/p>\n

              Boujaad carpets are characterized by:<\/p>\n

                Vibrant colors<\/strong> \u2013 often in shades of pink, orange, red and blue, created with natural plant dyes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                Vintage Boujaad \u2013 Dune<\/h3>\n

                Dune<\/strong> is a large and unusual vintage Boujaad rug with a calm, almost dreamy expression. The rug is handwoven in wool and kept in a subdued palette of warm sand, cream, powdery beige and dusty pink with fine details in gray-brown shades.<\/p>\n

                The first thing you notice are the long organic shapes that move vertically through the rug. Some stand alone, others form chains of diamond and leaf-like shapes. The pattern is both graphic and free, with the characteristic irregularity that makes older Moroccan rugs so vibrant.<\/p>\n

                The original colors have become soft and toned down over time. The delicate pink details in particular only stand out discreetly against the sand-colored base, and the result is a rug that has lots of character and at the same time seems incredibly calm.<\/p>\n

                With its 204 \u00d7 283 cm<\/strong> Dune is a really good size for the living room. It can be placed under a coffee table with a sofa and lounge chairs around it, but will also be beautiful under a dining table or as the calm, textile foundation in a large bedroom.<\/p>\n

                The neutral shades make it especially beautiful together with dark or light wood, cognac-colored leather, linen, whitewashed walls, travertine and handmade ceramics<\/strong>. From a distance, the carpet appears almost monochromatic and calm; closer up you discover the many small color changes, irregularities and traces of the life the carpet has already lived.<\/p>\n
