Wipe off with a damp cloth. The lamps can oxidize a little over time, which just adds extra charm. If you want your lamp polished, you can use a polishing agent or a little lemon juice, as the Moroccans do.

The metal the lamps are made of is flexible and should your lamp get a small dent, it can be straightened out very easily. Use a teaspoon and rub it where the bump protrudes and gently smooth it into place.
