Maintenance of Beni M'rirt carpets

Taking good care of a vintage Beni M'rirt rug ensures that it can last for many years to come:

1. Vacuuming

   • Vacuum the carpet regularly (preferably without brushes) so that dust and dirt do not settle in the fibers.

   • Vacuum on low suction on both sides a few times a year to keep it fresh.

2. Venting and shaking

   • Take the rug outside a few times a year, hang it over a railing and gently tap it to remove loose dust.

   • Air it out in fresh, dry weather – wool benefits from breathing.

3. Stain removal

   • Wipe up stains quickly with a clean cloth.

   • Use a mild wool soap and cold water – never harsh chemicals. Dab gently and avoid rubbing.
