Tagine or Tajine, can be written both ways, means clay dish in Berber and works a bit in the same way as a frying pan, incredibly effective for simmering dishes and at the same time very decorative.

Dish in unglazed earthenware with a cone-shaped lid, ensures that your dish can simmer for many hours and retain all the good taste.

NOTE! Before first use: soak in water overnight. When completely dry, rub the inside of the dish with cooking oil (not olive oil)

Very rustic tagine with a hand-drawn pattern around the dish and at the top of the cone-shaped lid.

The tagine is 31 cm in diameter and is well suited for a family of 4 people.

Can withstand regular oven, gas stove and ceramic stove (for ceramic stove you need a converter metal plate so that it can transport the heat or you can place it on top of a large pan).

With a Tagine on the table, you will certainly be able to impress your guests.

Maintenance

Before first use: soak in water overnight. When completely dry, rub the inside of the dish with cooking oil (not olive oil)

Can be washed with mild soapy water.

The tagine dishes are handmade, and there may be variations in both color and shape.

The story behind

The Moroccan tagine/Tajine is a stoneware dish with a characteristic cone-shaped lid in which you can prepare the most delicious dishes. A tagine can be used for many lovely Moroccan dishes and many simmering dishes. You can see different recipes for Tagine on my blog.
