The production of our blankets and pillows
“Each carpet at Tibladin is carefully selected by me personally. I walk on each carpet to feel the quality and history it carries. I am also always looking for beautiful vintage carpets that are no longer suitable as floor rugs, but can be transformed into unique cushions. By recycling the old carpets, we give them new life and create beautiful, handmade products.” – Mette Frank Bijaad, owner of Tibladin.

The finest quality
Choosing a wool rug is like choosing a work of art. All of our patterned rugs are unique and each carry their own story, which should harmonize with your home decor. At Tibladin, we carefully select the Moroccan rugs in collaboration with our suppliers in Marrakech and take pride in the fact that both cotton rugs and wool rugs are made from the finest quality of cotton and wool.
Tradition, craftsmanship and unique stories
Morocco has a proud and long tradition of producing some of the most beautiful handmade wool rugs. This ancient craft is still alive and well, with Beni Ouarain and Boucherouite rugs being handwoven by women from the Berber tribes of the Atlas Mountains.
The Berbers traditionally did not have a written language, and therefore their stories were expressed through the colorful craftsmanship of carpets. Moroccan carpets were originally personal and were characterized by the women's own stories. Today, women create many carpets with different patterns and stories, which are bought up by carpet merchants and distributed all over the world.
The Beni Ouarain tribe consists of several smaller tribes, some of which have moved further down into the valleys of the Atlas Mountains, while others still live in the heights. Life in the mountains makes sheep herding natural, which provides access to high-quality wool. What the tribes have in common is that the women weave incredibly soft and luxurious rugs, which are typically made of light wool with simple dark patterns.
Boucherouite rugs are created from scraps of wool and sometimes cotton, making them far more colorful than the simple Beni Ouarain rugs. These rugs serve as unique interior elements that can add a more lively and colorful touch to any home decor.

Natural dyes
The natural dyes used in Moroccan rugs are a true gift from nature. Plants such as indigo, pomegranate, saffron and kermes create a beautiful and vibrant color palette that is used in both Moroccan rugs and rug runners. These natural dyes transform cotton and wool into authentic works of art, where colors and patterns not only adorn floors, but also add a natural and timeless beauty to the living room and home decor.
Cushions from vintage carpets
Our unique cushion covers are made from carefully selected vintage carpets. The carpets are remade into beautiful cushion covers in varying, and sometimes slightly unconventional, dimensions to utilize every centimeter of the material. We carefully design how the carpet should be cut so that the patterns appear differently within the same series of cushion covers. The result is a completely unique cushion, only available in one copy, and which can be combined crosswise for a personal expression. The back of the cushions is made of strong Kiria cotton.
