Basma means smile in Arabic – a beautiful and life-affirming name that fits perfectly with this characterful Berber basket, where deep black meets dark green, soft yellow and creamy white in a harmonious and exciting play of colors.

The basket is handmade by women in Morocco's Atlas Mountains and woven from natural grass, which is carefully wrapped with woolen threads in black, deep forest green, delicate yellow and creamy white. The distinctive geometric patterns form large, symmetrical diamond shapes, where the light shades create beautiful contrasts with the dark background. The characteristic pointed lid is decorated with graphic patterns in green and yellow shades and is finished with an elegant black top. The patterns are inspired by traditional Berber symbols, often associated with protection, strength and harmony.

With a height of approximately 25-27 cm and a diameter of 18-22 cm, Basma is ideal for storing small items such as jewelry, keys or other small treasures. The slim, rounded shape and decorative pointed lid also make it a beautiful design object that adds color, personality and a touch of Moroccan craftsmanship to the interior.

The story behind

I love curves! They can give any room warmth and coziness.

The baskets are handmade and from a family business in Marrakech that specializes in wicker and has been doing it for generations.
