Handmade ceramic jars

The jars are handmade in ceramics and are coated with stucco / Tadlekt which gives a very soft and smooth surface. They give an exclusive look, are nice to the touch, and provide a pleasant and cozy atmosphere in all the rooms you decide to place them.

The jars are easy to clean. I would recommend that you either use a dust cloth or a hard torn cloth, which you use carefully and with care. The jars cannot be used to store food, but can easily be used to store sweets, candies and lollipops, as long as the product is sealed in advance.

The story behind the material

Stucco / Tadlekt is a type of cement that is made by mixing cement, sand and lime, which hardens into a very durable material that does not require much maintenance. It is something that is often smeared on the outside of buildings and other constructions. This gives them either a smooth or textured surface, depending on how they are smeared.

The Moroccan past has had a great influence on the use of this type of cement. The word "Tadlekt" comes from the Arabic word "dalaka" which means "to rub or polish". The material has a very strong impregnation effect, which means that it was originally used to protect walls from moisture. Therefore, you would often be able to find the material used inside the bathroom. In addition, the material was also used in the production of ceramic and Moroccan works of art.

In Morocco, stucco / tadelakt is often used as paint with a cement effect, and is often smeared on walls to give an exclusive, warm and calm look. It can often be seen in hammams and bathrooms, where it gives the walls a smooth and shiny surface, which makes it look very nice and fancy, and at the same time it protects the walls from the large amount of moisture from the water in these rooms. I myself am a big fan of this material, which is really beautiful, and at the same time provides a unique tactile experience that you rarely find in Scandinavian homes.
