In November 2017, author Maria Wittendorff's first book about Marrakech was published with great success: Marrakech – taste, places and atmosphere. After learning that, despite the book's size, many travelers have brought it to Marrakech and used it as a guide, she meets this need by writing a new edition in a more handy format that makes it easier to carry the journey. At the same time, it has given the opportunity to expand the content considerably, so that the book is now the closest you can get to a complete guide to Marrakech - personally experienced and vividly told. The first of its kind in Danish - also available here at the shop in English.

About the author

Maria Wittendorff is exam.art. in Arabic and long-standing writer and editor of magazines and books. She has traveled in North Africa for 30 years and is driven by the meeting between cultures, the understanding of the circles of history and the curiosity to challenge and expand her own world of concepts.

The story behind

Marrakech is one of the most popular travel destinations of all time - every day of the year, hundreds of tourists from all over the world arrive in the "red city" at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, and the Danes are more than well represented. Interest in Marrakech has seen a huge boom in the past 5 years and the trend looks set to continue.

It is not so surprising, because this city simply has it all: countless historical and cultural attractions, a rich and refined food culture, beautifully executed craftsmanship, sublime decorative details and a very special atmosphere in the city's small, narrow streets and alleys - just to mention some of what can be experienced here.
